LifeSkills Connection started with a belief that people deserve real support when life gets hard. We support people, leaders, and businesses with a range of challenges to set the foundation for a bright future. 

Inspired to Make a Bigger Impact

LifeSkills Connection was founded by Steve and Sheila Reitan — a husband and wife team from Manning, Iowa who spent decades building careers in government workforce contracting and human services before deciding to build something of their own.

Steve and Sheila had a vision for a company that could support people in all facets of their lives, a resource that was strongly rooted in community and gives people confidence in themselves and their future.

Who We are Today

We are a family- and veteran-owned organization headquartered in Manning, Iowa, with operations spanning more than a dozen states. We manage Job Corps contracts nationwide, operate workforce development programs across Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, run two holistic wellness centers in Iowa, support businesses through leadership consulting, and provide design and print services through Options Ink.

Our founders remain at the helm: Steve oversees corporate strategy and contract operations, while Sheila leads wellness and human services. Their son, Steven, serves as Vice President of Finance. Together with a team bringing decades of combined experience across every area we serve, they ensure exceptional leadership and expertise throughout the organization.
